William David Mathews, Sr., a resident of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 76.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Adams Mathews; his parents, T.J. Mathews and Matilda Heath Mathews; brother, Thomas Mathews.

He is survived by his children, David Mathews, Jr. (Vanesa), Adam Mathews (Valerie), Betsy Peacock (John); grandchildren, Joshua Mathews, Victoria Mathews, Maci Mathews, Trace Mathews, William Peacock, Ethan Peacock; brothers, Donald Mathews, Dale (Brenda) Mathews, Larry (Joann) Mathews, along with many other extended family members.

A private service will be held at a later date.
