Mack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Averett McClurkin, and his twin daughters: Beth Borak (Hugh) of Tuscaloosa and Billie Henson (Chuck) of Linden; three grandchildren; Jackson Borak, Joshua Borak, and Sarah Borak. He also leaves behind many cousins and friends. He was the only child born to the late William Newberry McClurkin and the late Oleta Mason McClurkin on December 7,1938. He grew up in Caledonia where he attended Moore Academy of Pine Apple, graduating in 1956. Mack was also a proud graduate of the University of Alabama in 1960 where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and received a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Mack served his country in the Army National Guard for 25 years. After graduating from college, Mack attended Boot Camp at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. His greatest contribution was serving in Desert Storm where he later retired as Captain. Mack spent many years in the teaching profession; Pensacola, Florida several| years, Stokes Academy, Wilcox County High School and others before starting his own business, Land Line Maintenance Company. He continued to assist landowners with this service for years before retiring.

Mack was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and land management. Turkey hunting was his passion; in fact, he sometimes bagged the limit of wild turkey. He also started the Bear Creek Hunting Club of Caledonia, which is still active today. Mack often spoke of his father, the late William Newberry McClurkin. He had fond memories of him and his father attending Shiloh Methodist Church services.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to honor Mack's memory with a contribution to the Bear Creek Preservation and Historical Association LLC for restoration of Shiloh Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be sent to: Bear Creek Preservation and Historical Association LLC, C/O Gladys Mason, 2075 County Road 45, Camden, AL 36726
