William Joshua Strickland

William Joshua Strickland, 42, a resident of Fort Deposit, Alabama, passed away at Baptist South Hospital on August 26, 2026.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father, William Richard Strickland; grandparents, Jesse King Strickland, John William and Barbara Jean McNaughton.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Debra Jean Strickland; sister, Jennifer Hudson (Tim, favorite brother-in-law); grandmother, Mary Louise Strickland; niece, Dakota Hudson; along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, honorary nieces, nephews and friends.

Joshua was the child that doctors said would not live past the age of 4 due to the type of brain cancer he had. With his strong determination, strong and loving parents and God’s will, he pushed through it and made it to the age of 42. Josh touched a lot of lives and was a very special son, brother, uncle and friend to those he met and followed him on his life journey. He definitely impacted more lives than we could have ever imagined and we are beyond grateful to those that have been a part of his life and have supported him. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Jim Free officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers are Michael Strickland, Tim Hudson, Darryl McNaughton, Clay Nolan, Thomas Strickland and Bubba Crook. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Strickland and Brantley Strickland.
