William Cory Godwin, age 36, of Brewton, Alabama passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida with his family by his side and surrounded with love. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 1315 Polk Road, Brewton, Alabama beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The family will accept friends one hour prior to service time.

Cory is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert Boatwright; paternal grandparents, Mason and Bonnie Godwin; Aunts, Judy Nelson Monti, Janette Nelson Lai; uncle, Tony Monti. He is survived by his mother, Deana Boatwright of Brewton, AL; father, William Bill (Renee) Godwin of Brewton, AL; maternal grandmother, Ronice Nelson Boatwright of Brewton, AL; sister, Vicki Allen (Bryant) Durst of Honoraville, AL; brother, Greg "Cheese" (Cheyanna) Allen of Brewton, AL; aunts, Denese (Carl) Hadley of Brewton, AL, Maxine Johnson of Castleberry, AL, Sherry Aaron of West Lake, LA; uncles, Guy Boatwright of Birmingham, AL, Keith Godwin of Castleberry, AL; beloved nieces, Chevy Ard of Honoraville, AL, Shelby Allen of Brewton, AL, Paisley Allen of Brewton, AL; favorite cousin Nikki "Miss Parker" Stewart of Brewton, AL along with many other cousins and numerous beloved friends he considered family.

To know Cory was to love him. He had a heart of gold and would give his shirt off  his back to anyone in need. He enjoyed the simple things in life, hunting, fishing and riding his buggy in the mud no matter how deep the hole he had no fear, just "SEND IT BABE".
