William Hatch "Bill" Dent, III, born in Montgomery, Alabama January 15, 1949, surrounded by his family, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Dent, Jr.  and Barbara Redding Dent, youngest sister Virgina "Aunt Jenny" Dent Giddens and his beloved dogs, Fred and Gator.

He is survived by his wife and true love of 56 years, Jane Bates Dent of Logan, Alabama, his three girls Carol Dent Casto (Dave) of Circleville, Ohio, Margaret Jane Dent of Logan, Alabama and Jessica Lynn Dent (Carolee Taylor) of Montgomery, Alabama.  He is also survived by his true pride and joy, grandsons Joshua Michael Strickland of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Alexander Ray Casto of Circleville, Ohio, siblings Eddie Dent (Cindy) of Crestucky, Florida, and sister Kitty Carlise of Mandeville Louisiana, good friend Timothy Knight and many nieces and nephews scattered about the south.

The family will receive visitors at Dunklin Funeral Home, 812 West Commerce Street, Greenville Alabama on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 2 to 3 p.m. with a celebration of life service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Bill wanted donations made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or have a tree planted in his name.
