Wanna Leigh Baxter Greene, age 88, passed away on October 30, 2022, in Hayneville, Alabama.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Friendship, Alabama with Rev. Bruce Coker officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Aurelius Coleman Goodwin, in 1969, and James Edward Greene in 2005.

She is survived by her children, Olivia Goodwin Hilt (Michael), George Goodwin (Janice) and Charles Goodwin; two grandchildren, Rachel Till-Sharpton and Coleman Goodwin; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Charlotte Sharpton.

Mrs. Greene moved to Fort Deposit in 1956 after graduating from Alabama College in Montevallo, AL.  Mrs. Greene was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Fort Deposit where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on various committees.  She was a retired teacher, having taught school in Lowndes County for thirty plus years, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Organization for women educators.  She was a member of the Fort Deposit Arts Council and served as Food Chairman for Calico Fort.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
