Chapman, Walter Lonnie, 86, of Tifton, GA died Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, November 13, 2010, in Greenwood Cemetery in Camden, AL. Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home, Camden, AL directing.
Mr. Chapman was born on December 4, 1923, in Mitchell County and was the son of Lonnie C. Chapman and Julie Mae Crosby Chapman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Emma Sue Chapman; one brother, David Chapman; and one sister, Marie Chapman McCook. He graduated from the University of Georgia and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a retired forester with McMillian-Bloedel and Kimberly Clark and a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife, Bettye Jean Tucker Chapman of Tifton; one son, Steven Shawn Chapman of Tifton; one daughter, Kimberlye Ann Chapman Jones of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Max Chapman of Donaldsonville and Denzel Chapman of Camilla; two sisters, Everlein Scarborough of Moultrie and Dazie Chapman Shiver of Tifton; and four grandchildren.
