Viola Newton Mothershed, 93, a resident of Greenville, Al died at Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama on Sunday, August 25, 2019. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home will be directing. Burial will follow at Ebenezer East Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Mothershed was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Mothershed; grandson, Ralph Blackmon and great grandson, Garrett Barnett.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne Blackmon (Lavonia) and Robert V. "Bob" Mothershed (Susan); daughters, Pam M. Sexton (David) and Barbara Simmons (Scott); grandchildren, Ronald Blackmon, Sherry Price, Steven Parmer, Crystal Huggins, Chris Young, Casey Strothers, and John Mothershed; great-grandchildren, Haley Blackmon, Cody Blackmon, J.C. Blackmon, Bryant Blackmon, Austin Barnett, Reagan McLain, Landon McLain, Brooklyn Huggins, John Hayden Parmer, Henly Young, Zade Young, Emree Maylin Young, Tamari Strothers, Mariah Strothers, Antrell Strothers, Gage Huggins and Gracie Huggins; great-great-grandchilden, Libby Ruth Duncan and Wayne Charles Mote and all her special friends at Pine Needle Place in Greenville, AL.
