Velma "Betty" Etheredge

Velma Elizabeth “Betty” Etheredge, 93, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Wesley Gardens Assisted Living in Montgomery.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee Vick and Annie Grey Manness Vick as well as her brother, Willard Vick.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Barganier (Jeff), granddaughter, Megan Plummer (Mac), great-grandchildren, Mary Cannon, Ford and Beeland Plummer, sister-in-law, Ouida Vick as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Betty was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and needlepoint. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Greenville where she taught the 4-year-old Sunday School class for 40 years.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville with Pastor John Girdley officiating. The family will receive friends between 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at Dunklin Funeral Home in Greenville. Immediately following the graveside service there will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Greenville.
