Thomas (Tom) Hiliary Nicholas, 60, a resident of Greenville, AL, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at L. V. Stabler Hospital. Tom was born February 3, 1956 to Walter Clay and Dorothy "Top" Henderson Nicholas.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Mr. Nicholas will be Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Lizenby officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: his brothers: Walter Clay Nicholas, Jr. (Verla) of Gulf Shores, AL and Joseph Claud Nicholas (Suzanne) of Monroeville, AL; Nephew: Adam Nicholas of Auburn, AL; nieces: Teresa Moyer of Elberta, AL and Tina Moyer of Las Vegas, NV; great-nephew: Logan Roberts of Orange Beach, AL; great-niece: Parker Shearer of Elberta, AL; uncle and aunt: Dr. and Mrs. Don Snellgrove of Greenville, AL; aunt: Quida M. Lide of Selma, AL; and life-long friend and co-worker: Lisa Butts.

He grew up in Greenville where he attended W. O. Parmer Elementary School and Crenshaw Christian Academy in Luverne where he graduated in 1974. He attended and graduated from Auburn University in 1979.

Tom worked for the Butler County Department of Human Resources. He was a Social Service Case Worker for adults. He began working there in March of 1983 and retired in March of this year.

He enjoyed visiting and talking with people especially the elderly. Above all else, Tom loved Auburn Football where he was a season ticket holder for many years.

Virginia Rainey was a close personal friend of Tom's. He affectionately referred to Virginia as his "second mother".

Pallbearers will be: Adam Nicholas, Logan Roberts, John Snellgrove, Hiliary Henderson, David Henderson and Brooks Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Tommy Means and Bobby Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Methodist Children's Home or to the American Cancer Society.
