IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Swannie Pouncey
Whiddon
April 26, 1937 – January 11, 2015
Mrs. Swannie Faye Pouncey Whiddon, 78, of Midway, Alabama passed peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Wallace Newton officiating.
Many may remember her from the priceless front porch days at Mrs. Alice Whiddon's store in Midway. Others may remember her for her cooking and special homemade rolls that could make you weak at your knees, but to her family she was much more.
As a loving wife she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and all those she loved. Her presence will be immensely missed as she was the matriarch of our family.
Each time we touch the steps of her house we will remember that priceless smile and "get in this house" greeting that would billow from the windows as she was waiting to welcome you with genuine love.
So until we meet again, we are comforted by the memories made and lasting impact she had on each of us.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. CL (Mac) Pouncey. She is survived by her husband, Wilson M. Whiddon; sons, Max (Carolyn) Whiddon, Mark Whiddon and Melissa Stringer, Michael (Greta) Whiddon; daughter, Melissa (David) Norrell; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers are Tommy Beverly, Perry Castleberry, Matthew Paul, Daniel Paul, Russell Whiddon and Chase Whiddon.
