Sara Louise Boutwell McGraw, age 85 and a resident of Hybart, AL, passed away at J. Paul Jones Hospital on Friday, December 8, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 10, 1938, in Pine Hill, AL to Carl Cox Boutwell and Mildred Louise Powe Boutwell who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ray Rushton McGraw; grandson Brad Philen and sisters and brother in laws Ann (Bob) Gregory and Willie (Bill) Foster.

She is survived by her children Sheree (R.J.) Browder, Russ (Donna) McGraw, Sandra (Keith) Philen and Sadler (Fran) McGraw; grandchildren James Browder, RaSarah Browder Johnson (Jeremy), Stuart McGraw (Kristen), Casey McGraw (Beth), Anna Leigh and Will McGraw and Stacy Philen; great grandchildren Ryann and Reaves McGraw, Mary Stuart and Rushton McGraw, Emery and Bryson Johnson and Mallory, Riley and Beau Philen. She also leaves a sister Mary (Phillip) Bland and brothers George (Linda) Boutwell and Tommy (Mary Elizabeth) Boutwell.

Mrs. McGraw owned and operated Ray McGraw Grocery in Hybart for over 40 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Friday December 15, 2023, at Gullett's Bluff Baptist Church in Coy, AL with Rev Reid Nettles officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please make memorial gifts to Gullett's Bluff Baptist Church or Bell's Landing- Hybart Cemetery.
