Harper, Russell Pierce, 42, a resident of Greenville, AL died Monday, November 16, 2015. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Sunrise Memorial Park with Brother Jackie Davis and Reverend Lane Simmons officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his father: Deleno Max Harper, Sr.; paternal grandparents: Y.O Harper and Gertrude Stokes; and maternal grandparents: Curtis and Ida Crawford Pierce.
Mr. Harper is survived by his sons: "Dalton" Pierce Harper and Russell "Pierce" Harper, II of Pike Road, AL; mother: Sandra Pierce Harper of Greenville, AL; brother: Delano Max Harper, Jr. of Richmond, VA; sister: Traci Brenier (John) of Gautier, MS; nieces: Alexandra Marie Harper of Greenville, AL and Resa Borries of Gautier, MS; nephews: Christian Harper of Coral Springs, FL and Spence Brenier (Melanie) of Gautier, MS; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Russell attended Fort Dale Academy and was the Most Valuable Player in 1991 for football. He served in the US Army from 1992-1994 and worked in the forestry industry prior to a logging accident in 2002.
