IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Jeffery
Faulk
April 3, 1943 – April 7, 2025
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ronald "Ronnie" Jeffery Faulk, a cherished grandfather, father, husband, coach, teacher, and friend. Ronnie passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 3, 1943, in Greenville, Alabama, to Nettie Thelma McCoy Faulk and Alex Franklin Faulk, he was a person of great integrity, compassion, and wisdom. He was a pillar of strength for his family and brought joy to everyone he met.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Billie C. Faulk, his children E. Peyton Faulk and Martha Alice Faulk Tutchtone (P.J.), his grandchildren Darcy and Eli Tutchtone, his sibling Jimmy Faulk (Opal), and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Faulk, his father Alex Franklin Faulk, and his brother Phillip Faulk. Ronnie and Billie had been married for over 56 years. His love for his family was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
While a student at Greenville High School, he played football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to play football at Auburn University in 1961. If you have spent any time talking to him, you have heard one of his favorite football stories. He left Auburn University to join the United States Airforce where he worked in communications stationed in Turkey and Crete. He attained the rank of Sergeant.
He was known as Coach Faulk throughout the community because of his many years of teaching and coaching. Coach Faulk was known for his dedication, sportsmanship, mentorship, and his unwavering love for his family. He was a dedicated coach and teacher at Greenville High School for 22 years, where he mentored countless young students and athletes and instilled in them the values of hard work, teamwork, perseverance, and fair play.
The family cannot state this strongly enough, but he LOVED GHS, his players, and his students. A former student recollected, "I remember a specific pep rally where he said he bleeds BLACK AND GOLD. I believed it!" A former player said, "His honesty, toughness, and love will never be forgotten." A fellow Butler County Board of Education employee said, "...I can certainly say Ronnie is a true Tiger."
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Dunklin Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Donald Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 am until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greenville High School Athletics, 100 Tiger Dr, Greenville, AL 36037 (please make checks payable to Greenville Athletics).
