Vanderbye, Robert Joseph, 69, a resident of Greenville, AL and a former resident of Cowarts, AL died on Monday, November 21, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Minister Angie Long officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Mr. Vanderbye married Laura Kathryn Munro on July 15, 1967 in Chicago, IL. He proudly served the U.S. Navy Submarine Fleet for thirteen years before beginning his career in nuclear power. He retired from Farley after twenty-eight years. After retiring he enjoyed woodworking and teaching his daughters, grandchildren, and students how to turn pens.
Mr. Vanderbye was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. & Phoebe Vanderbye and his brother, Raymond Vanderbye. He is survived by his wife, Kay Vanderbye; daughters, Cheri Vanderbye and Patti Haataja (John); grandchildren, Allison, Ryan Riley, and Zachary Haataja; sister, Phoebe Latz and many nieces and nephews.
