IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph Terry
Erwin
March 10, 1945 – August 13, 2025
Mr. Ralph Terry Erwin, age 80, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Church of the Highlands, 4409 Airport Blvd., Gadsden, Alabama. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Terry was born on March 10, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Arlington, Virginia, where he served at the Pentagon as a Pentagon Marine, faithfully standing guard. A Vietnam veteran and proud Marine, Terry carried the values of courage, loyalty, and excellence into every part of his life.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Aileen Womack Butler. He is survived by his sons, Chris Erwin (Rachel), Jason Erwin, and Ryan Erwin (Maria); grandchildren, Leyton Erwin, Liam Erwin, Aidan Erwin, and Addison Erwin; brother, Ronnie Erwin (Maryann); sister, Barbara Marsh (Dennis Parker); and several nieces and nephews who cherished him.
To his family, he was lovingly known as Dad and Paw Paw. To the caring staff at Bennie G. Adkins in Enterprise, Alabama, he was respectfully and affectionately called Mr. Erwin. However he was known, Terry will always be remembered as a proud father, loving grandfather, and a man who lived with strength, endurance, and love.
Terry lived a life of excellence, putting care and thoughtfulness into every detail. When it came to life's simple pleasures, Terry never turned down a Diet Coke, and a handful of almond Hershey's Kisses. And if you knew him, you already knew his favorite band was The Eagles, whose music he treasured and listened to even in his final days.
A man of deep love, Terry never ended a conversation, a card, or a visit without saying, "I love you with all my heart." Those words and that love will echo in the lives of his family forever.
