Peggy Darlene Simmons Reid, a resident of Fort Deposit, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 83.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery in Fort Deposit, Alabama.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father Dayton Oree Simmons, Sr.; mother Estelle Sirmon Simmons; son David Ronald Watts; brothers Dayton Simmons, Jr.; Donald Joseph Simmons; and William Warren Simmons; sister Betty Jean Craig; mother-in-law Callie Holmes Reid; father-in-law George Julian Reid.

She is survived by her husband Clive Alexander Reid; sons George (April) Reid and Scott (Elizabeth) Reid; daughter Susan Darlene Keebler; sister Sylvia Owens; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Peggy loved and found joy in the simple things in life; caring for her family, her church, being outdoors, flower gardening, and birdwatching. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
