Patrick Henry Richard Born in Birmingham, Alabama November 7, 1945, and died at home on February 7, 2012, in Greenville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Marie Richard of Birmingham; a brother, Don Richard of Arlington, Texas; and his father-in-law, Julius Carroll Gardner. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Fleta Gardner Richard; daughter Hannah Richard; son Frank Richard; brother Wayne Richard (Sharon) of Stilwell, Kansas; mother-in-law Rilla Gardner; brothers-in-law Jimmy Gardner (Wanda) and Ronnie Gardner (Paula); nephews all from Greenville, Dr. Joshua Gardner (Hilarie); Dr. Caleb Gardner (Sarah Ellen); Joseph Gardner and Dow Gardner; nephew, Kevin Richard from Texas; nieces Abbie Ballew (Brad) from Greenville; Melissa Ribeiro (Andre), Minnesota; Mitzi Edwards (Matt), Kansas; and Renee Riedel (Kyle), Texas.

Pat served in the United States Navy for 8 years before graduating from Troy University with a degree in accounting in 1978. Since 1989, he has served as Organist for Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville. He also served as church Treasurer. Previously, Pat served as comptroller for Rheem Manufacturing in Greenville, as well as for Rocky Creek Timber Co. in Monroeville. He was most recently employed by the Greenville-Butler County Library. Pat has served on the Board of the Butler County Department of Human Resources since 2001.

Memorial services will be held at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, with the Reverend Reid T. McCormick officiating, in Greenville on Saturday, February 11 at 10:30 A.M. Interment of Cremains will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Everyone is invited to visit the family following the service at the Richard home located at 4112 Forest Home Road. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church General Fund.
