Our beloved Pamela Joy Free passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2024, at the age of 64 in St. Petersburg, Florida.  She was surrounded by her family who adored and loved her dearly.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Joseph and Margie Roper Braden and her brother, James Evan Braden.  She is survived by her son, Joshua Free (Englewood, Florida), grandsons Alex James (Englewood, Florida) and Austin Jacob Free (Englewood, Florida), sisters Susan R. Tate (Terry) (Luverne, Alabama) and Tamatha Braden (Wimauma, Florida), and five nieces Sommer L. Tate (Troy, Alabama), Carmen E. Barrette (Phillip) (Andalusia, Alabama), Kaitlin J. Barg (Tampa, Florida), Kristin L. Barg (Wimauma, Florida), and Sarah T. Barg (Deltona, Florida).

While heaven has gained a wonderful angel, the world has lost a beloved soul.  Pam will forever be remembered for her kind, loving, compassionate nature. She was born August 2, 1960, in Montgomery and moved to Greenville in the 1970's. Pam later moved to Florida in 2000 where she lived the remainder of her life.  She dearly loved her son Josh and was so proud of his accomplishments and the man he became.  She cherished her grandsons, Alex and Austin and admired watching them develop into the nice young men they have grown to be.

Pam was an avid historian and genealogist who had many joyous adventures reading huge books in the basements of courthouses all over the south.  Pam loved to travel and always incorporated her passion of history.  Her zest for life allowed her to travel through Ireland, Scotland and England visiting firsthand all the castles and history she loved learning about back home. Most recently, she traveled up and down the East Coast visiting and researching battlegrounds along the way.  The stories she shared had a way of bringing it all to life.  In her spare time, Pam enjoyed being in nature and planting flowers to bring beauty to places that people could appreciate.  Pam was a remarkably kind and giving soul whose memory will be carried on throughout generations. She will be loved and missed every day by friends and family.

Pam was an animal lover to her core. She dearly loved her sweet baby Pearl.
