Oleene Black Williams age 83 of Letohatchee, AL died on Friday, December 16, 2022 after a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Cates officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel West Cemetery with Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Oleene is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Norman Williams; son, Richard Randall Williams; parents, Conrad Theodore and Ola Mae Black; siblings, Herston Black, Leroy Black. William Black, Allen Black and Eva Smelley. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Timothy (Kimberly) Williams, Steven (Hilary) Williams; grandchildren, Kevin Williams, Cade Williams, Kailee Williams, Caitlyn (Tyler) Anthony, Stephie (Kerey) Culpepper, Graycee Williams; great grandchildren, Levy Anthony, Keeland Culpepper.
Oleene Black Williams was a graduate of Troy University. Upon graduation she started a long career as a dedicated high school educator for Hooper Academy and then Highland Home School. She was a coach, cheerleader sponsor and taught typing as well. She was a loving and devoted mother to her three sons, to whom she taught the value of family and a strong work ethic. She loved, stood by and cared for her husband, Phillip, 56 years. She preferred being outdoors with dirt under her fingernails, growing vegetables, planting flowers, and enjoying God's creation. She also was a loving grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. She will be missed and remembered fondly until we see her again.
