Obituary

Michael Steven Hadden, Sr., 73, of Greenville, Alabama, passed away on November 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 11, 1952, Michael—known to most simply as Mike—devoted his life to service, family, faith, and the simple joy of fixing anything that needed mending.

Mike spent seven years with the Montgomery Police Department and later served thirteen years with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. His dedication, steady presence, and integrity left a lasting impact on the communities he served. Beyond his law-enforcement career, he was proud to be a Mason and a Shriner—roles through which he built friendships, contributed to charitable work, and upheld the values of brotherhood and compassion.

Mike was also deeply proud of his faith, and he never hesitated to share it. He openly witnessed to others, offered encouragement whenever he could, and made it a point to show God's love through his words and actions. His faith was central to who he was and how he met the world.

Above all else, Mike was a family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Debra Hadden; his daughter, Ashley Jones Simmons and her husband Jason; his son, Michael Hadden Jr.; and three adored grandsons, Jackson, Chapman (with Macie), and Nate. His family knew him as a man who worked with his hands and his heart, who could fix just about anything, and who never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. His dad jokes—especially his beloved "hen-weigh" joke—his goofy humor, and his warm spirit brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marvis Hadden, and his brothers Tommy and Doug. He is survived by his brothers Ronnie, Bruce (Debby), David (Sincha), and Danny (April), along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and celebrate Mike's life.

Mike's memory will be cherished by all who loved him, and his legacy of service, faith, kindness, and laughter will continue to shine through the generations that follow.
