Gillem, Melvin Bruce, 93, a resident of Greenville, AL died on Sunday, May 15, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Perry officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, May 17 ^th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dunklin Funeral Home and again on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Gillem was born on March 21, 1929 in Mendham, NJ.  He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert James Gillem; mother, Gertrude Gillem Beam; son, Van Odom Gillem; and three brothers, Herbert Jr., Alfred and Elmer.  He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Bobbie Jean Odom Gillem; daughters, Melonie Brewer (Jerome), Sandy Grayson (Keith), and Tammy Pickard (Terry); son, Melvin Bruce Gillem, Jr.; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many other special family members and friends.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Van Gillem/SaraLou Beeland Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist in Greenville, AL or to a charity of your choice.
