Brooks, Melissa S. age 63 of Fort Deposit, Alabama passed away on December 31, 2021 at Crown Health Care in Greenville, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Randy Harvill and Reverend Keith Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Myrtlewood Cemetery in Fort Deposit with Dunklin Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Nell Sanders Smith and Floyd Smith; grandson, Cody Daniel Brooks; brother, Stevie Smith and sister Sherry Smith. She is survived by her children, Cheri Melissa Gregory Powell (Randall) and Daniel Bennett Brooks; granddaughters, Kayla Nicole Herring, Alissa Danielle Powell, Savanna James Powell, Savanna Elizabeth Brooks, and Addilyn Rose Brooks; sister, Kathy Smith Phillips (Aaron); nieces, Ashley Taylor Gilomen (Brad), Kristie Taylor Mitchell (Darrell), Lauren Taylor Latham (Cory) ; Significant other, John Andrew Missildine; along with a host of cousins and friends.
