On November 7, 2024, Melissa Anne Braxton, age 53, went to await her life in paradise with our lord Christ. Missy went to sleep peacefully, in her home, holding her mother's hand.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dakota (Richard Capers) Barker and Jordyn Barker; her two granddaughters, Aubree Capers and Callee Capers; parents, Evin (Laura) Braxton of Greenville, Anne Braxton of Holtville; three brothers, Bubba (Jessica) Braxton of Grayson, GA, John (Teresa) Braxton of Holtville, Chris (Tiffany) Thomas of Greenville, along with many nieces and nephews.

Missy loved the community of Greenville and leaves behind a host of friends, especially April Marie Hill and Krystal Myrick.

Her daughters will scatter her ashes, as she requested, on the Chipola River in Florida.

Her parents will hold a memorial service at a later date.
