TATE, Mary Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Homestead Village in Pensacola, FL
April 29, 2011. She was born to Evie and John Hayden Hall in Camden, AL on March 8, 1920. She lived in the Camden area until she relocated to Pensacola, FL in December 2005 to be near her family. She was a retiree from the US Postal Service. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Allen Hall; husband, Warren Tate, Sr; and her only daughter, Phyllis Elizabeth Tate. Mrs. Tate is survived by two sons, Warren Tate, Jr. (Sue) of Pensacola, FL and Thomas Tate (Betti) of Monroeville,
AL; four granddaughters, Hayden Steward (Rob), Holley Tate, Elizabeth Mrachek (Pat), Amy Whitley (Matt); and six great-grandchildren Joshua Mrachek, Timothy Mrachek, Sarah Mrachek, Philip Steward, Helen Steward, and Tate Whitley.
Mary was a longtime member of Camden Baptist Church where the funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Reverend Bob Weber . Burial will be beside her husband and daughter in Society Hill Cemetery, Shawnee, AL with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers include William Givens, Ronnie Simpkins, James Gordon Felps, Buford Gavin, Jack Sharpe and R. J. Browder. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camden Baptist Church, 300 Broad Street,Camden, AL 36726 or to the Society Hill Cemetery, Shawnee, AL.
