Mary Ellen Hickman Fitzgerald received her angel wings on August 1, 2015. Born March 29, 1928 in Greenville, AL, she was the youngest and seventh child of Samuel Aaron Hickman and Minnie Ann Sims Hickman. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Merle Thompson, Ruth Newton, Eual Hickman, Lessie Salter, Opal Mullins, and Minnie Lee Salter.
Her remaining family is comforted in the belief Mary has been reunited with her husband: Gerald Taylor Fitzgerald; and son: G. Taylor Fitzgerald, Jr. She is survived by her daughter: Ellen Fitzgerald Todd, son-in-law, Donnie D. Todd, Jr. of Pell City, AL; and beloved granddaughter: Captain Sarah Todd, United States Air Force; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held in the chapel of Dunklin &Daniels Funeral Home, Greenville, AL on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend William Leverette officiating. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be at Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
