Mary Ellen Boswell Green, age 93, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dedicated Christian met Jesus' face to face on Monday, January 16, 2023.  She dedicated her life to making a loving and comfortable home for her family.  Her greatest joys were making family memories and serving God.   Ms. Green passed away at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was a life-long resident of Greenville, Alabama.

She is survived by three children: Fred Johnson (Diana), Mike Green (Debbie), and Vicki Ward (William); nine grandchildren: Joy Simpson (Robin), Tonya Conway (Bill), Jessica Johnson, Jason Green (Stephanie), Whitney Pounds (Matt), Lauren Maloy (Matt), John-Nathan Stewart (Sarah) Nick Stewart (Taylor), and Jacob Johnson (Julia); fifteen great-grandchildren: Kristofer Sewell (Laura), Mary Beth Sewell, Gage Huggins, Gracie Huggins, Tyson Stewart, Will McClelland, Lane McClelland, Jace McClelland, Weston Pounds, Amanda Pounds, Beau Maloy, Malakai Stewart, Chelsea Lewis, Wyatt Stewart and Kendall Johnson; one great-great grandson, Kohen Sewell; two brothers: David Boswell (Vera) and Randy Boswell (Nelie) and several nieces and nephews.  Ms. Green is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Boswell and Linnie Belle Seekers Boswell, husband George R. Green, grandson Frederick Johnson, great-grandson Jensen Stewart, brother Robert Boswell and sister Kay McKeown.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Monica Smith and her co-workers at Southern Care Hospice of Greenville, Jeanora Presley, Angeline Taylor, and Renee Boswell for helping in taking excellent care of Mary.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 19th in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Rev. Andy McKeown delivering the eulogy and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jason Green, John-Nathan Stewart, Nick Stewart, Jacob Johnson, Phillip McKeown and Josh Smith.  Honorary pallbearers include: Richard McKeown, Larry Boswell, Jimmy Boswell, Tony Boswell and Richard Gary.
