Mrs. Martha Helen "Hedy" Cassady, 89, a resident of Letohatchee, AL died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Letohatchee, AL with Reverend Randall Culp officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. A private graveside service will follow with Eddie Starkie officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Mrs. Cassady was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James Davis Cassady; son, Danny Cassady; brother, Buddy Cross; sisters, Mary Kate Dew and Pat Davis. She is survived by her son, Mike Cassady (Nancy); grandchildren, James Davis Cassady, II, Christen Cassady Carmen (Matt), Luke Cassady (Amy), Katie Cassady Nobles (Raymond); great-grandchildren, Bailey and Bryce Carmen, and Ivey and Davis Cassady, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was "Mama Hedy" to so many people and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed, but we know that she is enjoying a happy reunion with the ones who have already gone on.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hickory Grove Cemetery Fund at 7649 Union Academy Ada Road, Letohatchee, AL 36047, or to the charity of one's choice.
