Hughes, Marjorie Hickman, age 92, a resident of Opelika, AL, and former resident of Greenville, AL, died on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Kopp officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hughes was born on May 23, 1920 in Crenshaw county Alabama to Pluma Swanner and Rudolphus Algie Lee. On June 10, 1939 she married Gerald Nix Hickman. After his death she married Austile Hughes. Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by her son, John William Hickman. She is survived by her son, Joseph Gerald Hickman(Sandra F.)of Greenville, AL; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Kuykendall of Opelika, AL, grandchildren, Stacie Deanne Whitbeck (Dr. M. Gordon) of Pittsford, NY, John Gerald Hickman of Boca Raton, FL, Jennifer Lynne Craig of Andover, MN, Kathy Kuykendall (Johnny W.) Elrod of Dillon, SC, Dr. Ira Dan (Meredith B.)
