Margie Braden Hux, age 70, a resident of Collins, MS, and former resident of Greenville, AL, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the home of her daughter Susan Tate in Luverne, AL after a battle with cancer. Graveside funeral services will be held in Magnolia Cemetery on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Brother Donald Yancey officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Margie was born in Ramer Alabama. She attended Troy State Nursing School and was a nurse for forty years. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She traveled to historical places like Vicksburg Mississippi and Gettysburg Pennsylvania. Her travels also took her twice to Israel. She was a compassionate and nurturing lady and will be greatly missed.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Moody of Luverne, Alabama, her husband Donald Joseph Braden of Greenville, Alabama and her son James Evan Braden of Greenville Alabama. Survivors include her daughters Pamela Free of Greenville Alabama, Susan Tate (Terry) of Luverne Alabama, and Tammy Barg (Jeff) of Bradenton Florida; grandchildren Joshua Free, Sommer Tate, Carmen Tate, Katie Barg, Kristin Barg, and Sarah Barg ; great-grandchildren Alex Free and Austin Free, and a brother James C Roper of Washington Georgia.
She is also survived by her husband, Murray Hux of Collins, Mississippi and step children Richard Boyd Hux of Seminary MS, Lydia Ann Cole of Collins MS, Elizabeth Cheryl Lunsford of Raymond MS, Martha Janell Pitts of Seminary MS, Donna Jean Reesman of Gainesville GA, Rose Marie Hux of Collins MS, Janice Dene Smith of Richton MS, Philip Murray Hux of Collins MS; 17 step grand children and 4 great step grand children.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
