Margery Carey Bennett, a resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 94. Margery was born in Iron River Michigan on June 1, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Richard Bennett, Jr., her son, Robert Brock Bennett; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Eugene Carey; sister, Jean Van Wickel; brother, Robert McElhinney Carey, and sister, Gertrude (Trudy) Smith.
She is survived by daughter, Jean Bennett Hancock (Phillip); son, Bruce Dozier Bennett (Faye); grandchildren, Julian Katz, Jr., (Marie), Jennie Katz Hamilton (Stirling), Margery Katz Trodd (Paul), Sarah Bennett Parker (Ross), Alex Bennett Roberts (Stan), Will Dixon (Jodi) and Braden Dixon Weeks (Morgan). Nine great grandchildren, Bennett, Stirling, Stephen, Frances, Cameron, Dozier, Bennett, Vivvie, Rhodes, Brewer and Ellie.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. from St Thomas Episcopal Church with Reverend Linda Suzanne Borgen officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
Pallbearers are Julian Katz, Jr., Stirling Hamilton, III, Paul Trodd, Ross Parker, Stanford Roberts, William Dixon, Morgan Weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Apple United Methodist Church, 16209 Highway 10 E, Pine Apple, Alabama 36768 or St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 201 Church Street, Greenville, Alabama 36037.
