Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a lifetime of memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Margaret Bowden Griggers on November 7, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on July 6, 1931, Margaret was a source of laughter, love, and endless stories—a true Southern gem who made everyone feel like family.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Jason Simmons and Brother Jason Beiler officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

She is now reunited with her parents, Franklin Bowden and Lexie Long Bowden; her husband of 56 wonderful years, Perry Griggers Jr.; her grandson, Joe Earl Bradford III; and her siblings, Sydney Lee Bowden and Betty Ann Rutherford. Though our hearts ache, we can almost hear her joyful reunion with loved ones above, sharing stories and laughter as she takes her rightful place among the saints.

Margaret leaves behind a loving legacy in her two daughters, Debra Griggers Hadden (Mike) and Dusty Griggers Hartley (Keith), who were blessed with her wisdom, humor, and tenacity. Her grandchildren, Ashley Jones Simmons (Jason), Sommer Bradford Brown (Doug), and Hannah Hamm Bradford, will forever carry her spirit forward, each in their own way. She is also survived by her dear siblings Ollie Bowden Moorer, Shirley Bowden, Sara Ann Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews all of whom remember her as both family and friend.

As a great-grandmother, she was adored by Dustin, Caleb, Jackson, Chapman, Sydnie, Nate, Lucy, and Jack, along with her precious great-granddaughter, Saylor. Each knew they could count on her for a warm embrace, a bit of wisdom (or mischief), and a sense of humor that brightened even the most ordinary days.

She was a proud member of Life Change Church in Greenville, AL, where she celebrated her faith with her church family. Known for her radiant smile and unshakable spirit, she shared both her love for God and her zest for life with everyone she met.

While our family will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing she's watching over us, probably shaking her head at all the fuss we're making and reminding us to keep laughing, loving, and living each day to the fullest. She wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you to Southern Care Hospice for their care and concern in her final days.
