Larry Winston Blackburn, born December 21, 1947 in Greenville, Alabama, departed this life Saturday, May 4th in the evening at his home surrounded by his family in Sandy Ridge, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Parish Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bill Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Sawyer Cemetery with Dunklin Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Blackburn is preceded in death by his father and mother, Stephen and Ruth Blackburn; brother, Lanny; sister and brother-in-law, Twynette and Lester Raysin; grandson, Baby Boy Blackburn. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Dian Heppleston Blackburn; brother, Nelson (Shirley) Blackburn; children, Nancy (Keith) Wright, Michael (Ammee) Blackburn, Kenneth (Jodi) Blackburn; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Anna and Megan; Cody and Katie; and AJ and Kenzie Jo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. He deeply loved his Canadian family, those who preceded him and those who continue to love him. Mr. Blackburn was known for his strength, honesty, generosity, love of land and community, and above all else his love of family. He never met a stranger; his door was always open.
