LaNita M. Watson of Greenville, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was 81 years old.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch West Baptist Church with Reverend Nathan Skipper officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

LaNita was born on February 8, 1944, to Byron and Margie Lawrence, who both preceded her in death. After spending most of her childhood in Louisiana, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Watson, Jr. on February 12, 1963. His career in the Navy took their love and family all over the world until they settled down in Greenville, AL. Here they spent the remaining years of their 50-year marriage, and they relished their time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren until his death in 2014.

LaNita loved the Lord with all her heart and even up till her death, she was always witnessing to others and making sure everyone she met knew that she loved Jesus and that He loved them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, her sisters Marie and Tonette, her brother Jerry.

She is survived by her sons Robert L Watson III (Josie) and William E. Watson, her daughter Cheryl W. McNaughton (Kenny), grandchildren- Noel Seale (James), Tiffany Stewart (Jeremy), Kristalyn Cabral (Alexander), Jade Brown (Daniel), Jeffery Turner (Rachel), Kimberly Hernandez (Steve), Katrina Pruitt (Tyler), Joseph Sipper (Monica), Kevin Sipper, Kendra Phelps, and great grandchildren, Lincoln, Addison, Tatum, Asher, Ember, Kairi, Imani, Mia, Barrett, Bailey, Kylo, and one on the way, Hunter. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
