LCpl Landon Tyler Dunn

LCpl Landon Tyler Dunn, age 20, of Greenville, AL departed his earthly life on Saturday, August 22, 2026, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Funeral Services for Landon will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Brother Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Park with full military honors by the U. S. Marine Corps. Honorary pallbearers are Javarius Brooks, Christian Jones, Maddox Etheridge, Robert Howard, Peyton Ridgeway, Blaine Ridgeway, Chris Touchtone, Taylor McCann, Hunter Norwood, Ken Martin and Hayden Lynch.

The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Landon was born on Friday, February 17, 2006, to Horace “Eddie” Dunn and Melissa Dunn. He graduated from Greenville High School on May 18, 2024. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. And went to boot camp at Parris Island, SC on August 8, 2024. Landon graduated as a United States Marine PFC on November 1, 2024. He then did his MCT training at Camp Geiger in Jacksonville, NC. After his MCT training he went to Naval Justice School in Newport, RI. After graduating as a Legal Services Specialist on March 27, 2025, he was stationed at Unites States Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC. Landon was promoted to LCPL on May 5, 2025, and worked as a Legal Services Senior Clerk. After the Marine Corps, he was wanting to pursue a career in physical therapy.

When he wasn’t working, Landon loved spending time with friends, working out at the gym, and playing his Xbox. When he was home, he loved spending time with his girlfriend, family, friends at home and the gym. Landon also enjoyed fishing and Alabama football.

He is preceded in death by his father, Horace “Eddie” Dunn; grandparents, Dale and Rena Ward and Horace and Ernestine Dunn, as well as his aunt, Margaret Sawyer.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa Dunn; brothers, Logan Hornsby of Greenville, AL, and Jeff Dunn (Sarah) of Lawrenceburg, TN, sisters, Ashlyn Grace Dunn of Greenville, AL and Kristin Dorning (Heath) of Athens, AL, girlfriend, Maya Shaffer of Hope Hull, AL, aunts, Delane Ward of Greenville, AL, Jeanne Smith (John) of Theodore, AL, Betty Brantly (Larry – deceased), of Evergreen, AL, uncle, Steve Dunn (Melinda) of Evergreen, AL as well as multiple nephews, a niece and many cousins.
