Kenneth Platt Solomons, III

Kenneth Platt Solomons III, a lifelong resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away January 14, 2026. “Kenny” was born September 13, 1948, and spent his life rooted in the community he called home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Platt Solomons Jr.; his mother, Frances Wilkinson Solomons; and his sister, Marion Norman.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Catherine McBride Solomons, two sons, Kenneth Platt Solomons IV (Laura) of Columbus, Georgia, children Kenneth Platt Solomons V and Katherine Anne Solomons; and James Broughton Solomons (Amanda) of Round Rock, Texas, children Priscilla Golson Solomons and Broughton Henry Solomons. He is also survived by his sister, Priscilla Solomons of Greenville, Alabama, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville on January 26, 2026, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 am. A private burial will follow at Magnolia cemetery.
