Born on August 14, 1941, in Mississippi, June’s journey through life was marked by warmth, strength, and an enduring sense of grace that touched every person she met.
June lived her life anchored in compassion and kindness. Those who had the privilege of knowing her recall a woman whose presence brought comfort, whose words offered wisdom, and whose love made each day brighter. Though her story began in Mississippi, her impact reached far beyond her place of birth and her roots grew deeper with each new friendship and memory created along the way.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Leonard Reid, and her parents, John Andrew Byars and Epher Annis Long Byars, June leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. June dedicated 25 years to the Social Security Administration before embracing her passion for antiques. Together with her sons, she transformed this passion into a flourishing business, sharing the beauty of fine European antiques with the world for a decade. June found joy in decorating with her treasured pieces, immersing herself in literature, and delighting in the companionship of her two Shih Tzu puppies, always with a fondness for ice cream.
Her life was a tapestry of vibrant interests and cherished relationships, leaving behind a legacy enriched by both her personal and professional endeavors.
