Josephine Hall McLauchlin Crenshaw, 97, a resident of Montgomery, formerly of Fort Deposit, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021.  She was born in Raeford, North Carolina to Beatrice Hall and Hugh Currie McLauchlin on June 4, 1924.  Mrs. Crenshaw graduated from Salem College with a degree in Organ.  She met her husband, Henry Farrior Crenshaw, when they were both living and working in Burlington, North Carolina.  After marriage, they lived in Fort Deposit, Alabama and raised their family of five children.  Mrs. Crenshaw taught piano for over 43 years in Fort Deposit, Greenville and Montgomery.  She retired at age 80.  Mrs. Crenshaw moved to Oak Grove Inn in 2009.  She lived in Independent and then Assisted Living until her move to John Knox in June 2021.  She is survived by her brother and his wife, John and Eleanor McLauchlin; children, Elizabeth and Bart Crum, Harriet C. Johnson,  Farrior and Lori Crenshaw, Hugh and Millie Crenshaw, Nancy and Jon Kay; grandchildren, Bess and Scott Thornley, Ellen and Ed Hauser, Tommy and Kimberly Crenshaw, Betsy and Rob Davis, Barton Crum, Kathryn, Emily Anne and Evelyn Kay; Megan and Henry Crenshaw; great-grandchildren, Margaret, Elizabeth and Josephine Thornley, Ethan Crenshaw, Cole and Barton Davis, Rhodes and Hall Hauser.  Mrs. Crenshaw was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years and brothers Tom and Hugh McLauchlin.  The graveside service was held at Myrtlewood Cemetery in Fort Deposit at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
