Joseph Alexander "Joey" Halford, 21, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 15, 2025, in Forest Home Alabama where he was a resident. Joey graduated from Greenville High School class of 2022 and had ambitions to become a mechanic. He loved all things outdoors particularly fishing. He also had a love for gaming and made many friends near and far. Joey never met a stranger and was always willing to offer a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish Joey's memory are his mother and father, Nancy and James Burgans, godparents, Becky and Michael Jackson, sisters, Katlynne Ammons and Trinity Harris, grandmothers, Sherry Lee and Tammy Burgans, great-grandfather Jimmy Gillum, nieces, Passion Franklin, Aelin Daniel, and Adalynn Daniel, nephews, Ayden Giddens, Kinsley Giddens, and Greyson Giddens, special friends, Robin and Adam Giddens, and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Joey was preceded in death by grandparents, Hilton Burgans and Linda Burgans, and great-grandmother, Minnie Harris.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Forest Home Baptist Church in Forest Home AL. at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Sawyer-Burgans Cemetery, a private cemetery behind the Burgan home. Pallbearers include Bobby Brooks, Brady McCullough, Bretton McCullough, Dustin Owens, Jessie Kelley, Adam Giddens, Richard Till, and George Starnes. The family request attendants consider wearing baby blue in honor of Joey. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dunklin Funeral Home in Greenville, AL.
