John Thomas Newton, age 84 of Greenville, Alabama died peacefully in his home surrounded by love on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from the Chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Herbert Brown and Reverend Jason Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer East Cemetery with Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held on and a half hours prior to service time.

John is preceded in death by his parents, WR and Erie Newton; brother, Richard Newton; sisters, Edna Ruth (Huel) Owens, Clodine (Charlie) Ponder, Viola (John) Mothershed; Father and Mother-in-laws, Winifred and Naomi Pond. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Gloria Newton; daughter, Amy Morris; grand daughters, Jessica (Daniel) Bell, Jennifer (Eugene) Baker; great grandchildren, Levi Sexton, Madelyn Bell, Rand Odom, Ryder Odom along with 5 other bonus grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
