In the early morning of a beautiful spring day on Thursday, April 28, 2016, John Helmers, Jr., 24, a resident of Camden, AL, was received by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, though we know not why he was taken from us so soon. A Celebration of his Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Camden United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Dovey officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the service.

John is survived by his father: John Helmers and step mom: Kerri A. Helmers; mother: Heidi C. Wolf; his loving sister, who he adored: Jennifer Helmers Chapman (Nick) and her children: Ava Rene, Nicholas "Carter" and Macie Miller; step brothers: Gerald J. Rhodes & Nicolas S. Rhodes; step sister: Heather Marie; Aunt Sissie, Uncle David (Paran), Tracy Walters (NaNa), Uncle Paul, Aunt Judy, Uncle Robert and a host of cousins. John also had a special Camden family who treated him like a son: Mr. Bob & Connie Hines.

He was a 2010 graduate of Wilcox Academy and currently employed by Air Conditioning by Luquire. He was an avid outdoorsman with his best friend Micky Tait and loved hunting, fishing and sports, but most of all, John Loved his family. We know he will forever be our Guardian Angel
