Joanne (Hood) Killough, 93, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2025.

A native of Greenville, she was a proud graduate of the Greenville High School Class of 1950.

"Miss Joanne" retired from the Butler County Circuit Clerk's Office after decades of public service in various positions within the courthouse.

She was a devoted Christian, loyal wife, loving mother, and the longest-serving member of Southside Baptist Church in Greenville, which her mother and her cousin helped establish in 1936.

Joanne enjoyed volunteering as a poll worker.  She was a reading assistant at local schools and a hospital Pink Lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Tommy Killough. She is survived by their three children Stan (Beth), Steve (Lydia) and Beth (Killough) Chapman. She had a very special niece, Sheila Daniels, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who were the joy of her life.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 9 at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Greenville.  A private graveside service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southside Baptist Church in Greenville or St. Jude Hospital.
