Obituary

Janet (Jan) R. Ackerman age 90 of Greenville, Al , passed peacefully at home October3, 2018. Funeral service will be held Wednesday October 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville, Al with Rev. Linda Suzanne Borgen directing. With burial in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Parish Hall. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ackerman was born in Stanford, CTtoHerb and Kathleen Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William, and son Ed. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in New York and dedicated fifty years to the nursing profession as a register nurse. She worked at the old L.V. Stabler Hospital and the Butler County Health Department.

She is survived by her husband of sixty eight years; John Ackerman. Son, Jim Ackerman (Amanda) of Luverne, AL, Grandchildren, Andy Ackerman of Montgomery, AL and Frances Ackerman of Auburn, AL.Step-grandchildren;Anna-Belle and Tripp McCormick of Wetumpka, AL Son, Robert Ackerman (Cindy) of Montgomery, ALGrandchildren, Caitlin Young (Ken) and Haley Ackerman. Great Granddaughter; Blakelyn Young all of Montgomery, ALSister-in-law; Mavis Ackerman of Florida and Fran Richardson of Massachusetts..Niece Leslie Allmond of Georgia. Nephew Louis Ackerman of New York and Peter Effaldana of Florida. Along with other nieces and nephews of New York an Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Memorial Fund or Wounded Warriors.
