Gafford, James Booth, 80, a resident of Fort Deposit, AL, died on Friday, March 25, 2011, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents Omyr Booth Gafford and Ruby Loftin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.,Bethel Baptist Church Ft. Deposit, AL, visitation is one hour before funeral services with Rev. Gary Burton and Rev. Tim Skipper officiciating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Baptist Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Mr. Gafford is survived by his wife, Anne P. Gafford of Ft. Deposit, AL, daughter, Vicki Williams of Montgomery, AL; son J. Larry Gafford (Susan) of Snowden, AL; 5 grandchildren, James T. Gafford, Jeremiah B. Gafford (Ashley), Brian T. Williams (Ashley), Hunter P. Gafford and Jared J. Williams; two great grand- children Payton Gafford and Austin Gafford; sisters Katie G. Hicks of Ft. Deposit, AL and Janice G. McCraney (Joe) of Ft. Deposit, AL.
Mr. and Mrs. Gafford were married 60 years and he was the retired president of First Lowndes Bank of Ft. Deposit, AL; he was also a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678 or Bethel Baptist Church, 15 Church St. Ft. Deposit, AL 36032 or to one's favorite charity.
