Brock, James Moody, age 76, a resident of Greenville, AL, died on Monday, September 29, 2014. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Moses officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Turner Brock. He is survived by his wife, Margie Hayes Brock, children; Sheryl Brock Moore (Pete) of Montgomery, AL, Marsha Brock Wilhite (Dan) of Cullman, AL, James Moody Brock, Jr. (Heather) of Niceville, FL, step-children; Kaye Bolton (Tom) of Selma, AL, Thomas K. Coker of Ocala, FL, Todd Rance Coker (Denise) of Prattville, AL, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, mother-in-law, Louise B. Hayes of Greenville, AL, brother, Roy Turner Brock, Jr. (Ruth) of Greenville, SC, brother-in-law, Bob W. Hayes (Judy) of Rainbow City, AL, nieces; Nina Thomasson (Walter) of Greenville, SC, and Nan Buckley (Mike) of Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Brock completed pharmacy school at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) where he was class president during his senior year. He was a longtime resident of Montgomery, AL where he owned Cloverland Drugs for over 25 years. He relocated to Greenville in 1989 and continued his pharmaceutical career at Winn-Dixie and the Medicine Shoppe. Mr. Brock was a compassionate man and served as mentor for many young people in the community. He loved his family, tractors, and John Wayne movies and will be missed by all who knew him.
