Mrs. Ida Ruth Holmes Duke, 77, a resident of Mobile, AL, died on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL.

The family will receive friends at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Brother Donnie Holmes and Rev. Jason Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Park, Greenville, AL. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville, AL directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Oliver & Annie Holmes; Husband: Johnnie Duke; Son: Danny Palmer; Daughter: Susie Palmer; Sisters: Jean Buchanan & Margie Sue Bodiford.

Mrs. Duke is survived by children: Linda Gail Davis (Greg) of Summerdale, AL, Sheila Buchanan (Jimmy) of Mobile, AL, John W. Duke "Bo" of Glenwood, AL, Charles Vernon Duke "Cotton" of Greenville, AL, Patsy Dunklin "Patty" (Chris) of Mobile, AL, Rickey Lee Duke (Santana) of Montgomery, AL, 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Shelby Holmes (Buena) of Luverne, AL, William Clinton Holmes (Thelma) of Highland Home, AL, Mickey Ralph Holmes (Susan) of Montgomery, AL, Donnie Dwight Holmes (Gea) of LaPine, AL; many nieces & nephews.
