Hazel Adams Mathews, a resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, at the age of 75.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Brother Mark Lovett officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Cecil and Bessie Lee Adams; sisters, Jean Nobles, Frances Mathews, Mary Ann Teague.

She is survived by her husband, David Mathews, Sr.; children, David Mathews, Jr. (Vanesa), Adam Mathews (Valerie), Betsy Peacock (John); grandchildren, Joshua Mathews, Victoria Mathews, Maci Mathews, Trace Mathews, William Peacock, Ethan Peacock; sisters, Faye Adams, Bonnie Mason, Helen Johnson (Ricky); brother, Eddie Adams (Sonya), brothers-in-law, Donnie Mathews, Harold Teague, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Southern Care Hospice for all the love and care they have given during this time. Thank you to Christine Brundidge for taking such good care of Hazel during the past few weeks.
