Slagley, George Eldon, 83, a resident of Greenville, AL, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from the Chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville, AL with Reverend Robert Paul officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
George Eldon Slagley was born October 13, 1932 in Clay County, Flora, IL. He was the son of Pearl Austin Slagley and Genelle Smith. He married Kathryn Jo Modlin on June 17, 1951 in Xenia, IL. He worked for the U.S. Army in St. Louis, MO and Ft. Rucker, AL. He also worked for Quality RV Sales in Dothan, AL and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in December 1986.
Mr. Slagley was preceded in death by his brothers: William L. Slagley and Robert Slagley. He is survived by his wife: Kathryn Jo Slagley; sons: Dale A. Slagley (Nancy) of Edwardsville, IL and Gale A. Slagley (Jody) of Greenville, AL.
