Raybon, Fay 87, a resident of Greenville, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Coker officiating. Burial will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Raybon will lie in state thirty minutes prior to service. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Fay was born to Audie and Kirby Phelps in Greenville, AL. She was married almost seventy years to Earl Raybon. She is survived by children, Steve and Doris Raybon of Thomasville, GA; Chris and Adrianne Kahn Raybon of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Mike and Dana Raybon of Thomasville, GA; Jill Bresnan of Richardson, TX; Julie and Rick Fontenot of Dallas, TX; Pam and Bryan Owens of Plano, TX; Andy Raybon of Hot Springs, AR; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Raybon, Josie and Jackson Bresnan, Rose Fontenot, and Jonathan and Susannah Owens. Mrs. Raybon is preceded in death by her sister Laura Phelps Ellis and brother, Kirby Phelps, Jr.
Mrs. Raybon was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Though Mrs. Raybon enjoyed a number of jobs, her passion was being a devoted wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother and great- grandmother. She was a gifted cook, gardener, and canner. Her latest honor on December 14 was the announcement that her next great-grandaughter would be her namesake. Pallbearers include Michael Whiddon, Tommy Raybon of Montgomery, Tim Ellis of South Carolina, Andy Raybon, and Mike Raybon. The family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers, Kim Newton and Linda Thornton. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Midway Baptist Church, Dock Road, Honoraville, AL.
