ELIZABETH INEZ BRADEN SMITH

Actually, doing our ancestry I discovered my mother's birth name was Inez E. Braden.  I guess somewhere over time she chose to reverse her names. She was known all through her school years as Elizabeth Braden.

She married my father Ernest L. Smith on March 6, 1948, in Greenville, Alabama again listing her name as Elizabeth Braden.

They traveled the world serving in the United States Air Force. They became the parents to three daughters. They retired to Greenville, Alabama in 1982.

Miss Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Linda Gail (Robert L.) Clontz of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kelly Elizabeth Hatch, Myrick, Stinson, Dixon, Smith of Greenville, Alabama. Survivors also include six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Elton Braden Sr. and Inez Elizabeth Burkett…birth certificate legal name was Inez Lizzie Burkett, three brothers, Aaron Elton Braden Jr., Arthur Eugene Braden, Charles David Braden, her husband, Ernest L. Smith, a daughter, Pamela J. Goodwin Mootz, and a granddaughter, Sadie Elizabeth Clontz.  Those and others from the past await a great reunion beyond the veil.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Sunrise Memorial Park in Greenville, Alabama with Pastor Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home.
